As a recap, the Canadian government announced by January 1, 2023, the country will prohibit non-Canadians from purchasing domestic property over the next two years as measures to “cool down” overheated housing markets in cities like Vancouver.
During the discussion with BNN, Ansari said this wouldn’t impact Canada’s housing market as those interested in buying have often secured permanent residency.
