What is MRT 3 Circle Line?
The MRT 3 Circle Line is a circular route that spans 51km, making it Malaysia’s first circular rail line.
This loop allows commuters to travel to various parts of the Klang Valley more conveniently, avoiding the need to venture into central Kuala Lumpur just to switch lines.
Completing a full loop takes about 73 minutes, and the line is designed to accommodate up to 25,000 passengers per hour in each direction, with each train capable of carrying as many as 750 passengers.
The project has an interesting history though; it was initially put on hold by the Pakatan Harapan government in 2018 because of budgetary limitations, but it was later reinitiated by the Perikatan Nasional administration in 2021.

The latest project schedule shows that they should wrap up the final approval for the railway scheme by the end of 2024, and the construction should be kicking off in 2026.
