Transport Minister Loke Siu Fook announced on February 10 that it is no longer required to paste road tax on cars and carry physical driver’s licenses.
Enforcement officers can now simply check if you have a valid road tax by checking your car’s number plate, so you no longer have to worry about not having a sticker on your car at roadblocks!
However, if you’d like to check the validity of your road tax and view your driver’s license online, you can do so through the official JPJ website or the MyJPJ app.
Here’s 4 steps on how to view your e-road tax and e-driver’s license online:
Step 1: Download the MyJPJ app or visit the JPJ official website
First, go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and search for MyJPJ.
You can also visit the JPJ official website.
Step 2: Register for an account
After download is complete, click “Register New Account” to register for an account.
Then, enter your IC number to enter the registration page, and then fill in your personal information to complete the registration process.
On the website, click on “Log Masuk” (Login) or “Daftar/Log Masuk Kali Pertama” (Register/First Time Login) to enter the registration page.
Similarly, fill in your IC number, email address, contact number and security code.
Click “Teruskan” (Continue), then check the information is correct. Remember to tick the box to confirm, and click “Hantar” (Send) to complete.
Step 3: Log in to MySikap account
After completing the registration, you will receive an official email, and then you can log in to your account by entering the temporary password and ID number provided in the email.
Step 4: View your e-road tax and e-license
After logging in to your account, simply click on “Profile”.
You will see the words “Lesen Memandu” and “Lesen Kenderaan Motor”. Click to view your electronic driver’s license and electronic road tax!
You can also view the QR codes of the e-license and e-road tax to confirm the authenticity of the documents.
Don’t worry if you can’t access the app or website due to high volumes. Enforcement officers can simply check your road tax validity through their own apps!
Now, you no longer need to worry about leaving your driver’s license at home!
