Previously an engineer, Shan found his calling in real estate
Before venturing into real estate, Shan was an engineering graduate who kickstarted his career journey in electronic engineering. While working, he realized that he wanted to do business, ultimately resigning from his job.
However, when he started his business, he went into debt. But he did not stop there – he moved on to find a different career, and by a stroke of luck (and no coincidence), he found IQI on social media.
He joined an interview, and now he’s 8+ years strong as a real estate entrepreneur – and thriving!
I have love for real estate. I like to interact with people. I like sales, and I want to expand my knowledge in real estate. I want to become an investor as well. So that’s why I chose real estate, and I got into IQI.

Despite his awards, Shan’s #1 happiness comes from his team members’ success
As someone who is prospering in real estate, you would think that their biggest achievement would be their awards, wouldn’t it?
For Shan, his own successes come secondary. He celebrates his team members’ achievements more than his own, feeling a sense of satisfaction as he cheers them on.
Starting from zero to more than 400 members in his team, seeing them achieve their goals is his pride and joy.
At IQI, I’ve received many awards like the Million Dollar Club, Top Project Performer, Star Award and many more. However, what truly warms my heart is when my team members achieve their dreams, goals, awards, incentives and more.

Tech empowerment was Shan’s silver lining amidst the pandemic lockdowns
What do you do when a worldwide pandemic hits, and affects your business that relies on physical interaction?
When COVID-19 emerged in 2020, the entire country was in lockdown. Shan then had a million questions in his head, “How do I do this?” “Who’s going to invest now?” “Is my career going to end?”
However, he made use of IQI’s tech platform, Atlas, and started participated in online trainings to ensure his real estate expertise is sharp and strong – even without stepping out of the house.
Not only did he utilize technology for learning, he also started to close deals through Zoom meetings!
During the lockdown, we had online training every day. We would have two to three speakers consistently giving us knowledge. IQI also has a platform which equipped us with a lot of knowledge. That’s when we started to close a lot of deals online.

What else did Shan get up to to keep his real estate career alive during the pandemic?
I started doing Facebook livestreams and created a lot of short videos to educate people. This is how I overcame the challenges. Once lockdown was over and things started going back to normal, that’s where we started to shoot up.

To date, Shan has managed to amass a follower count of 24.4k on Tiktok!
Shan’s jacket is not the only thing that’s bright -it’s his personality too, which shines through his videos!
A supportive team environment empowered them towards greatness
In Shan’s team, the number one thing is guidance. Whether it’s training from the company or from his own team, their priority is guiding them to make sure they close their first deal and eventually earn five-figure income.
A notable moment for Shan was of one of his team members who hadn’t closed her first deal for almost 3-4 months, living with no income throughout. She was in tears after closing the first deal, and had Shan to thank.
Hearing one of my teammates say, “Thank you so much for helping me earn five figure income when I had no income for months,” is what feels like my biggest accomplishment in IQI.

What does Shan have to say for newbies in the real estate industry?
Shan: Expect less, work hard, be committed, and be focused on what you are doing. You can definitely outperform in this industry.
