1. Share some of your successful accomplishments as a real estate agent at IQI.
Jitco: Recently, I was awarded 1st runner up in the Top Regional Sub-sales Performer (Central Region), Platinum Plus Million Dollar Achiever Club, and also 1st runner up in the IQI Top Subsale Performer for 2022.
2. What led you to pursue a career in real estate?
Jitco: After I graduated, a few of my friends joined the real estate industry right away, while I decided to become a bank mortgage officer.
Within a short period of time, my friends were already quite successful in real estate, while I was busy handling customer loan applications day and night.
After a few years of consideration, I decided to become a real estate negotiator, as I already had a foundation of property knowledge and a good client database.
I had a strong feeling that I could become more successful by joining the real estate industry.
3. Can you share a story about a difficult obstacle you faced in your real estate career, and how you overcame it?
Jitco: At the beginning of my real estate career, I didn’t have anyone to guide me properly, and I had to learn most things by myself by attending various property-related courses and training, including those hosted by my agency. I also learned from the internet and from my mistakes.
Those courses weren’t cheap, and it was painful as I didn’t have sufficient savings to sustain my expenses.
But I worked hard and put more effort into it, and slowly, I managed to close some deals and invested most of it back into real estate courses.
As I became more confident and gained the trust of clients, I received more referrals. I’ve worked with many agencies before, but communication between leaders and agents was always an issue until I joined Rina Property, which is now IQI United Group.
I have a good relationship with my leader, Jordan Yeoh, who is willing to guide me step by step.
A positive working environment is essential for a real estate agent, and thanks to IQI, I’m surrounded by hardworking and positive negotiators who motivate me to push myself harder.
4. How has IQI supported your professional growth and development as a real estate agent?
Jitco: As a leader in the real estate industry, IQI is the largest real estate firm in Malaysia and has been recognized as the most reputable and successful firm.
The strong brand name gives my high-profile clients confidence as they believe that real estate negotiators from IQI are properly trained and equipped with all the professional knowledge.
The magic starts to work when we show them our business card printed with the IQI logo.
IQI has invested heavily in our Atlas IT system that helps RENs solve most of the backend support. It is so comprehensive that it covers almost anything you can think of to help you close the deal, including:
- digital signing
- project training
- skill training courses
- essential forms
- commission claims
- agent personal performance tracking
- team sales tracking
- REN personal branding, and more.
Not to forget our super-efficient admin team.
IQI gives agents confidence that we only need to source for sales and close them, and the agency will handle the rest for us. You won’t find this kind of support in any other agency.
5. Looking ahead to the next five years, what are some goals or aspirations you have for your career in real estate?
Jitco: I have started to sit for exams for my REA license, and I hope to pass the BOVEAP test and complete all the tasks in PEA to obtain my own REA license.
My goal is to build a strong team in IQI and help more people succeed in the real estate industry.
IQI will be the best platform for me to achieve this dream. I have seen many success stories in IQI, and I aim to become one of them in the next few years.
6. If you could only give one piece of advice to someone who’s just starting out in real estate, what would it be?
Always be professional, and treat all your clients equally.
Jitco: You may start slow and find it difficult in the early stages of your real estate career, but if you work hard enough by building up your property knowledge and clientele, you will pick up momentum quickly and see the rewards of your efforts.
Attend all the training provided by IQI, expose yourself to more people by building your own brand name, discuss any issues with your team leader or colleagues, and provide your clients with the best solutions.
In IQI, we focus on ensuring that our agents and negotiators achieve insurmountable success in their careers. Join IQI to see how you can develop not only in your work, but also in your personal life!
