Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH) highway is opening to the public today (14th October), 12 am, with toll-free for a month until 30th November 2022.
The 20.1km highway will reduce traffic congestion in several locations by up to 40% during peak hours, providing an alternative route from Shah Alam, Kota Damansara, Subang airport, Damansara Perdana, Damansara, Penchala and Kuala Lumpur.
It is expected to reduce the travel time from 90 minutes to 30 minutes from Puncak Perdana to Penchala, and from TTDI to Subang airport will only take 10 minutes.
13 interchanges, 3 highway networks connected
DASH Highway has 13 interchanges:
- Puncak Perdana
- Alam Suria
- Denai Alam
- Kampung Melayu Subang
- Pinggiran Subang
- Subang Dua
- Subang Airport
- RRIM (Kwasa Damansara)
- Surian
- Seksyen 5 Kota Damansara
- Sunway Damansara
- Damansara Perdana
- Penchala
The highway will also serve as a link between eastern and western townships in Klang Valley, connecting several highways networks such as:
- Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE)
- Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP)
- Penchala Link
Lesser noise, more safety
DASH Highway implemented the noise-cancellation barrier with the primary function of minimizing noise from vehicles on DASH toward residents.
It is also equipped with 37 closed-circuit cameras (CCTV), 18 emergency telephones, 30 vehicle incident detection systems (VIDS) and 10 variable message signs (VMS) along the alignment, as well as 2,441 light-emitting diodes (LED) street lights.
Reduced toll charges on AKLEH, GCE,LKSA,SILK
To reduce the burden on the people, the government will reduce the toll rates for four highways under PROLINTAS, which will be implemented at 12.01 am on October 20.
The four highways are:
- Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH)
- Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE)
- Kemuning-Shah Alam Highway (LKSA)
- Kajang Dispersal Link Expressway (Kajang SILK)
The new toll rates for Class One (vehicle having two axles and three or four wheels, excluding taxis and buses) are as follows:
