1. “Resonating Microcosms”: Interactive Digitized Nature
Located at the Central Rooftop Garden (L4) of the LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre, the well-known art collective teamLab showcases its interactive ovoid sculptures that reflect under the sun and emit sound when it interacts with rain! These sculptures emit 61 newly-defined solidified light colours, that also causes the light from the trees to change colour as the rays touch them, and it’s truly a sight to see, especially at nighttime (be sure to come early to secure a spot!). And the best part is, admission is free!
If you’re one who loves to take pictures and play around with lights for your Instagram feed, then this is a must-see spot to visit!

2. Ilham Art Show 2022
The ILHAM Art Show 2022 is an exhibition platform by ILHAM Gallery showcasing Malaysian artists’ creations, giving them the opportunity to experiment and make new work. These works explore complex narratives that incorporate traditions and technologies and bring forth connections to land and culture.
Side note: the gallery is closed on public holidays, so you may want to plan around this.

3. “Synthesis: Love, Dreams & Hope” – Hand-Painted Batik
Are you into arts and crafts? You’re in for a treat – Galeri Prima’s Synthesis: Love, Dreams and Hope exhibition is the first private art gallery that features the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah’s exclusive hand-painted batik fabrics! Alongside 40 other batik pieces by established and emerging artists, this showcase highlights some of the oldest traditional batik-making techniques in Malaysia by the Majesty herself.

4. ‘Tanjong’ by Kelab Teater Asar Negeri Sembilan
When was the last time you stepped foot in a theatre? Switch it up this Malaysia day holiday by immersing yourself in a local theatre show set in the Luak Tanjong region of Negeri Sembilan! Locals and foreigners alike can enjoy this story of two brothers, Anjang and Baroq who fight for power when their father was killed during his voyage, with themes of love, conflict and bond.

5. Junjung Tradisi: A Night with UTP Stars
Feel like having an elegant night out? Put on your best dress and lose yourself in this one-night only event, featuring distinguished Malay traditional dances alongside contemporary Malay tunes and the gamelan (traditional percussive instruments)! Malaysian or otherwise, everyone can enjoy the beauty of conventional Malay performing arts passed down from generation to generation.
