1. What is Threads?
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, introduced this platform that closely resembles Twitter.
The platform allows users to share mostly text updates, along with the ability to upload photos and videos, and engage in real-time conversations.
Users have the ability to interact with posts by responding, reposting, and quoting them, similar to the features available on Twitter.
Users can seamlessly share posts from Threads to their Instagram Stories, incorporating the familiar user interface and functionality of Instagram.
Once users sign up using their Instagram accounts, they have the option to customize their bio specifically for the platform, while keeping their login, password, and account name unchanged.
Users can also effortlessly import their list of followed accounts directly from Instagram, making it incredibly convenient to start using the program.
In sum, Threads is basically Twitter 2.0.
2. Threads vs Twitter
While Threads and Twitter are used in similar ways and purposes, the two platforms are unrelated.
Threads is a new social media under Meta, owned by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg; while Twitter is owned by Elon Musk.
Meta says the platform is a “text version of Instagram” , which can be seamlessly connected with other platforms to realize the “Federal Universe” (Fediverse).
Finally, unlike Twitter, Threads does not support private messaging, but Meta says it will consider adding this feature as users grow.
However, since the app attracted more than 30 million users in less than a day after its launch, it seriously threatened the status of competitor Twitter.
Therefore, Twitter accused Meta of misappropriating trade secrets and threatened to file a lawsuit against Meta.

3. Fastest app to reach 1M downloads
It took only 5 days for the ChatGPT app to reach one million downloads, which shows how popular it was at the time of release.
However, in just one month, Threads quickly broke this record with an astonishing speed of one and a half hours, becoming the fastest app to reach one million downloads.
4. Fastest growing app in user history
Additionally, Threads received 30 million signups on launch day, and it also had more than 100 million registered users in less than 5 days.
Compared to the ChatGPT app, which took 2 months and Twitter which took 5 years to get 100 million registered users – the speed of Threads is unheard of.
Threads is currently taking the social media world by storm.
