King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia has agreed to bestow the honorary title of “Oknha” on Chandy Mann, Head of Country at IQI Cambodia. Acting Head of State Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum will make the official presentation at the Office of the Council of Ministers this week.
“Oknha” symbolises nobility and the highest title that a non-royal civilian may receive from the Cambodian king. The king only bestows the title on a small number of individuals to recognise their service to the country.
Mr Chandy will be the only person to receive the title at his ceremony. The “oknha“ title is of historic importance and has been used in the country since the fifteenth century.
Mr Chandy is Head of Country of the leading real estate agency, IQI Cambodia. IQI Cambodia is part of the fast-growing Asian real estate technology group Juwai IQI. The group operates in more than 15 countries and closed 17,000 sales and rental transactions in 2020.
