Halloween Is Back In Malaysia! From costumes and candies with friends or family, you are bound to have a great time!
Halloween has been a celebration embraced by Malaysians. It is neither Pagan nor a Christian holiday and is celebrated without being associated with any religion. It is a time where people of all ages gather to just have fun and enjoy themselves!
Pumpkin Carving During Halloween |
But, Halloween was never really like this until recent years.
You see, Halloween wasn’t popular back in the day. It was only celebrated by a small number of people and ex-pats, with limited promotions run by certain shopping malls.
With the influence of American media dominating pop culture, some parts of Asia have adopted the celebration, like Malaysia! Many restaurants and bars have begun to feature Halloween themes, from decorations to live shows and special Halloween-themed meals.
You may also wonder, “Why is there a hype for pumpkins and it being carved with scary faces??”
Pumpkin Carving During Halloween
Well, it’s not exactly just scary faces anymore. People will carve funny or silly-looking faces, or artistically carve out art on a jack-’o’-lantern. With this, pumpkins have had a long history with Halloween.
The Irish were the first to carve these faces using turnips or potatoes hundreds of years ago as Stingy Jack’s soul, who tricked the devil for his own financial gains wasn’t allowed in Heaven or Hell. So, he wandered the streets on Earth.
But how did pumpkins come into the picture?
Well, when the Irish migrated to the USA, pumpkins were a native plant. So the Irish took the initiative and started carving pumpkins instead!
With the media promoting Halloween, news about it spread like wildfire, and it was therefore adopted by many in the current generation.
You may be excited now, but not sure where to head to during Halloween.
Well, ever considered Hauntu? Cause if not, you’re missing out!

Eh, real actors?
Yes! Real professional actors! You would need to interact with these actors to solve mysteries (or maybe commit a crime!) that lie within the game and hopefully can get you out alive.
Furthermore, you and your companions will represent different character roles with the goal of committing a fictitious crime or fulfilling a task.
Unique Storylines, With Different Themed Eras!
The storyline would be based on the Colle Eastern Hotel, with its post-British colonial theme and architecture.
The episodes are also set in 3 distinct eras (set in the 1950s, 1980s and 1990s) that work together to uncover the Colle Eastern Hotel’s sinister secret. Hauntu will rotate the eras every few months and will be recounted in three episodes. So, once you’ve finished one episode, you’ll be able to return and continue the adventure soon. Imagine that as a cliffhanger; you’d definitely want to return!
