The Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) outlined four initiatives and one of them is recognising market operators for digital asset exchange (RMO-DAX).
The SC chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Awang Adek Hussin, stated that this initiative is intended to expand access to alternative finance for micro, small, and medium companies.
Moreover, SC will open up registration of new RMO-DAX to facilitate regulated digital asset investments if this type of alternative asset becomes more common. Further, digital asset investments registered through RMO-DAX have reached nearly RM21 billion since its introduction.
The SC chairman also emphasized that market digitalization is a top priority for SC. The market operators are urge to ADAPT the digital trends and leverage technologies to foster innovation through new business models and products.
