IQI’s real estate platform released data indicating significant financial returns<\/strong> for Malaysian homeowners, highlighting that those who own their homes have seen a notable increase in wealth <\/strong>due to rising property values<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Juwai IQI Co-Founder and Group CEO Kashif Ansari<\/strong>, “Over the 10 years leading up to 2023, the median home value in Malaysia increased by RM136,716<\/strong>, representing a 42% rise<\/strong>. Median prices grew from RM330,427 in 2014 to RM467,143<\/strong> in 2023.”<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

The typical Malaysian homeowner saw their personal wealth soar by the equivalent to more than four years of wages<\/strong> – just because their homes went up in value.<\/p>\nKashif Ansari<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“The Department of Statistics estimates the median annual wage<\/strong> at RM32,000,” he added. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“<\/span>The data shows that, if you can sustainably afford to own your own home, it can be one of the simplest and safest routes to attaining financial security<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ansari finds that homeowners with mortgages<\/strong> experienced even greater returns<\/strong>. While the median property price in Malaysia rose by 42%, those with mortgages enjoyed a 66% return<\/strong> on their investment over the same period.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This higher percentage gain is due to the ability to leverage the bank’s money, benefiting fully from the price appreciation<\/strong> without needing to invest<\/strong> the home’s entire value upfront<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
